Ellie asked:
My husband received a dwi or dui about 3 years ago and he’s already paid his surcharges and everything is pretty much done, however he’s having lots of trouble finding a good job because of his bad record. He did have an open container when he got charged, please does anyone know or been through the same and got it expunged? Please suggest somebody good and do you know how much it costs to do this?

First, why doesn’t he try to expunge it himself?
Go to the fifth item down, here:
(Y/A won’t let me link to a .PDF File). Although this is for the State of Massachusetts, the document you do it on is the same (Motion to Expunge Record) and the information is pretty much the same. If he can prove that it is causing him hardship, and if he gets an understanding judge, it can be done.
Otherwise if deadset on an attorney to handle it, try:
If it was this easy everyone would be doing it. I have one on my record back in 1990, my second one was in 2000. It remains on your record for life, and 3 strikes I’m OUT!
Try getting advice from a professional, they should know the ins and out of Georgia law by heart.
